Editorial policy
How a page gets from research to publication — and what has to be true before it can.
Which sources do we trust?
We grade sources before we use them. Grade A sources are primary: legislation, court decisions, regulators and central banks, official statistics, white papers and official technical documentation. Every number, date and claim about an organisation on Bitfolio must trace back to a grade A source or it is removed.
Grade B sources (reputable secondary analysis) can help us structure an explanation but are never the only source for a figure. Promotional material from companies is treated as a claim, not a fact.
How is each page checked?
The publishing gate
- 1
Research notes first
Writers record each source with its grade and year in our knowledge base before drafting.
- 2
Automated checks
Our publishing script refuses pages that lack external sources, contain promise-of-profit language, cite a source that is not listed, or show figures without a citation.
- 3
Signed verification
The checker confirms that every number was compared with its source, the full page was re-read and the mobile layout was viewed.
- 4
Live check
After publishing we test the live page's heading and mobile layout automatically.
How do we use AI?
We use AI tools to help research, draft and check pages and to build our software. AI output is treated as a draft: numbers are re-verified against the original documents, quotations are only used after reading the source text, and causal claims without a primary source are left out rather than guessed.
How do we stay independent?
Bitfolio carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, and no company can pay to be covered or reviewed. See how we are funded.
How do corrections work?
If you find an error, tell us with the page address. We review every report, fix verified errors promptly and record material corrections on the page.
